Canon Updates Cinema EOS Line

Firmware updates to the EOS C400, C80, C500 Mark II, C300 Mark III, C70 and R5 C cameras will be available for free download this month.

Canon U.S.A., Inc., has announced firmware updates for models in its Cinema EOS line that will be available through free downloads this month.


In addition, v1.2 of the Canon Multi-Camera Control App for iPhone and iPad will be available from the App Store.


The update to the EOS C400 camera will enable Frame.io C2C in-camera activation and transmission of proxy files via wireless or wired Ethernet, a 1.5x anamorphic de-squeeze display assist option, and a 1920x1080P output option for Monitor Out and HDMI interfaces, among other enhancements.


The update to the EOS C80 camera will enable Frame.io C2C and add a 1920x1080P output option for SDI Out and HDMI interfaces, among other enhancements.


The update to the EOS C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III cameras will add an option for camera output to mirror the camera’s LCD display and enable the display of a digital tele-converter icon when activated.


The update to the EOS C70 camera will enable compatibility with the RF17-120 Cine-Servo lens, the RF70-200 F2.8 L IS USM Z zoom lens, and the RF24mm F1.4 L VCM and RF50mm F1.4 L VCM hybrid lenses, among other enhancements.


The update to the EOS R5 C camera will add support for the RF17-120 Cine-Servo lens and compatibility with the RF70-200 F2.8 L IS USM Z zoom lens and the RF24mm F1.4 L VCM and RF50mm F1.4 L VCM hybrid lenses, among other enhancements.
