Creamsource Launches Vortex Softs, CreamOS v3
The new luminaires augment the Vortex ecosystem and feature some enhancements. CreamOS v3 includes a multilingual web interface that enables management of connected Vortex fixtures from any web browser.
Creamsource has announced Vortex Softs and CreamOS v3.
The Vortex8 Soft and Vortex4 Soft deliver full-spectrum light and extensive customization options. As part of the Vortex ecosystem, they are powered by the Creamsource Colour Management System for excellent color accuracy and consistency between units and across the Vortex range. The Softs also feature a tilt indicator, which ensures precision and uniformity across setups; a front-loading system, enabling users to swap lenses and modifiers without having to deconstruct the rig; and an XWide Lens (formerly known as the Med diffuser), which maintains a 110-degree beam spread.
Features in CreamOS v3 include a multilingual web interface that lets users manage all connected Vortex fixtures from any web browser; Fixture Search, which automatically detects and lists all connected fixtures; Bulk Configuration, which can be used to adjust multiple fixtures simultaneously; and enhanced color-space management.
Once CreamOS v3 is installed, future firmware updates can be done via the web page, wired DMX (from one fixture to another) or Streaming ACN (sACN).
The Creamsource Vortex8 Soft lists for $4,499, and the Vortex4 Soft lists for $2,299.
