Fujifilm North America Corp., Electronic Imaging Division, has launched its first camera designed primarily for professional filmmakers, the Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55, as well as the first motorized zoom lens designed for the GFX system, the Fujinon GF32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR.

Featuring a 102-megapixel 44x33 large-format sensor, the GFX Eterna 55 expands the angle of view with both spherical and anamorphic lenses. Fujifilm Digital Film Science offers highly controllable color application, including 20 built-in Film Simulations, F-Log2 C’s expansive gamut and dynamic range, and the ability to create and load 3D LUTs. The camera’s features include an internal electronic variable ND, a flexible native lens mount and wide connectivity.

GFX Eterna 55 offers five main formats, which each present further options for resolution selections: GF, Premista, 35mm, Anamorphic (35mm) and Super35. It also supports filming in a 4:3 open-gate format at up to 48 fps, fully leveraging the 43.8mm wide x 32.9mm high x 54.8mm diagonal sensor. The camera adopts a four-point Optical Low-Pass Filter to reduce the potential for optical anomalies, and it offers a dual-base ISO of 800 and 3,200.

Other highlights include F-Log2 and F-Log2 C with dynamic range of 14+ stops; 20 Film Simulations, as well as 10 Film Simulation conversion 3D LUTs (compliant with ITU-R BT.709); the ability to store 16 3D LUTs, including 3D Film Simulation LUTs, in camera; support for five codecs, including Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Apple ProRes 422 and Apple ProRes 422 LT; the ability to output 4:2:2 10-bit uncompressed data and up to 8K/30P 12-bit video in Raw data via HDMI; support for Frame.io C2C functionality; a 2,000-nit 5" LCD display that features multiple adjustable angles; an internal battery slot that holds an NP-W235 battery, allowing for up to 30 minutes of filming without external power; and CFExpress Type B and SD card media.

The Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55 lists for $16,499.95 and will begin shipping in October.

The Fujinon GF32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR zoom lens is compatible with the GFX Eterna 55 and the GFX100 II. Comprising 25 lens elements in 19 groups (including three extra-low dispersion lenses and three aspherical lenses), the lens offers the operability and design of Fujinon Premista zoom lenses. The GF32-90mm measures 8.7" long and weighs approximately 4.6 pounds.

The Fujinon GF32-90mm lists for $5,995.95 and will begin shipping in October.
