Laowa Launches 4 Lenses
The 17mm Zero-D Tilt-Shift, 17mm Zero-D Shift, 15-24mm Macro Probe Zoom and 15-35mm Macro Probe Zoom are now available.
Venus Optics has launched four Laowa lenses: the 17mm f/4 Zero-D Tilt-Shift, the 17mm f/4 Zero-D Shift and the 15-24mm T8 and 15-35mm T12 Macro Probe Zooms.
The 17mm Zero-D lenses combine a 104-degree angle of view with precise perspective control. Pairing the ±12mm shift capability for the tilt-shift version ±11mm for the shift version, and with the signature Zero-D design, they eliminate optical distortion and the keystone effect. Although the lenses are designed primarily for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the image circle provides ample coverage for medium-format sensors with a ±8mm shift capability. With the tilt-shift version, photographers gain control over the focus plane, allowing for both selective focus and the creative miniature effect. Both lenses feature a 360-degree rotation mechanism, a 9.8" close-focusing distance and 14 aperture blades.
Recently honored with awards from Cine Gear and the Technical Image Press Association, both new Laowa Macro Probe Zoom lenses deliver a 110.5-degree angle of view at the wide end and up to 2.3x zoom, enabling dramatic shifts in magnification and perspective. Their 14" tubular design reaches hard-to-access subjects with ease, while four different perspectives (Direct, 35-degree, 90-degree and Periscope) provide expanded creative control.
