Miller Tripods has announced the SkyFX 9, a live virtual-reality fluid head that can accommodate larger lenses and cameras.
The company will showcase the solution at NAB 2024 (Booth C6925).
Capable of supporting up to 88 pounds, the SkyFX 9 features 16 positions of counterbalance and seven +0 positions of drag. It’s fitted with an Arri-style side-loading camera plate capable of 150mm travel.
Designed for live broadcasts, including VR applications, the head employs non-contact, high-resolution, magnetic encoders with pan resolution of 2.1 million and tilt resolution of 1.05 million. The tripod attachment is a 150mm clawball, but an optional Mitchell base can also be used.
