Sony Announces Mocopi Pro Kit
The advanced motion-capture solution features a 12-sensor setup designed for comfort.
Sony Electronics has announced the Mocopi Pro Kit.
The motion-capture solution features a 12-sensor setup that is lightweight and designed for comfort. The sensors are positioned to track head, hip, wrist, ankle, arms, thighs and either hands or feet.
As part of Sony’s new Extended Reality solutions brand, XYN, which provides support for 3DCG and spatial-content production, Mocopi is intended for a wide range of professional XR creators in addition to existing VRChat and other users.
Features of the Mocopi Pro Kit include: a “Professional Mode” 12-sensor connection that improves motion fidelity; direct connection to PC, optimizing production workflow; merging camera data, enhancing positional accuracy and reducing tracking errors; offline grounding refinement (supported only with XYN Motion Studio), and integration with the Mocopi PC app and XYN Motion Studio app.
The Mocopi Pro Kit will be available for pre-order in late March 2025, and the complete hardware bundle will list for $1,180. Individual pieces of the kit will also be available. The sensor data receivers (PC dongle) will list for $110 each. The additional bands will list for approximately $60 per set.
