The new instructional video Virtual Production: Are You Game? was released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences on October 20, 2021.


Produced by the Academy's Science & Technology Council, this program presents some of the most current virtual production filmmaking practices and related technological innovations. Academy members from a variety of branches share their experiences and demonstrate how they are innovating and working in this space.


Participants include ASC members Caleb Deschanel and Rob Legato, in part talking about their collaboration on The Lion King, as well as Dave Klein, regarding his work in LED volumes at Industrial Light and Magic on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.











A fun intro looking back at the history of onscreen trickery was narrated by ASC associate member Rob Hummel.
