The first instructor announced for the upcoming ASC Master Class intensive — to take place in Hollywood on June 24-28 — is Robert Elswit, ASC.

The class will focus on the unique technical and creative characteristics of shooting motion-picture film. This topic has been explored in previous sessions and has returned due to popular demand. Portions of the class will take place at the ASC Clubhouse and at facilities and stages in the L.A. area.

Elswit earned an Academy Award for his camerawork in the period drama There Will Be Blood (2007), also earning the ASC Award and other honors for the picture. He earned previous Oscar and ASC Award nominations for his black-and-white cinematography in the period feature Good Night, and Good Luck (2005).
