The ASC has welcomed Australian cinematographer Stephen F. Windon into the ranks of active membership.
Windon was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1959. His career began at the Australian Broadcasting Company, where he served as a news and documentary cameraman. After transitioning to the network's Television Drama department, he shot several miniseries.
Windon began working in the American film industry in 1993. His U.S. feature credits include The Postman, Deep Blue Sea, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and four films in the Fast & Furious franchise: The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7. He is currently shooting Star Trek Beyond for director Justin Lin.
Windon shot five episodes of HBO's 10-episode miniseries The Pacific, and he won an ASC Award for the episode "Okinawa." (Remi Adefarasin, BSC, shot the other half of the series.)
Windon has been a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society since 1989.
