Jeffrey Waldron Welcomed as New ASC Member

Jeffrey Waldron, ASC credits Disney’s The Jungle Book (1967) with sparking his love for visual storytelling, and he originally dreamed of a career in hand-drawn animation. However, the 16mm camera on the stand at his local animation club proved especially intriguing, igniting “a wild obsession with cameras and film [that] ultimately led me toward live-action storytelling,” he says. He studied film as an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, where he was mentored by ASC members Bill Fraker and Woody Omens, and he earned an MFA in cinematography at the American Film Institute, where ASC members Bill Dill and Stephen Lighthill were similarly influential.
