ASC Welcomes New Member Alicia Robbins

Alicia Robbins, ASC grew up outside Birmingham, Alabama, and became interested in visual storytelling while studying communications at Vanderbilt University, where she did some shooting for the campus TV station. She continued her studies at the American Film Institute, earning an MFA in cinematography in 2003, and then spent the next several years shooting independent features, documentaries, music videos and commercials — “anything that kept my creative instincts sharp.” Robbins won the ICG Emerging Cinematographer Award in 2018 for her short film Internet Gangsters, and her big break came that same year, when she was hired as C-camera operator/additional cinematographer on the Shondaland series For the People.
