ASC Welcomes New Member Zoë White

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Zoë White, ASC, ACS recalls sparking to photography as a teenager, when she took black-and-white photos with her grandfather’s Pentax as her family traveled in Italy. “It made me aware of being able to frame the world with my own eyes,” she says. After studying at North Carolina School of the Arts and the Australian Film, Television & Radio School, she had another formative experience: serving as the assistant to Tom Sigel, ASC during production of Superman Returns in Sydney. She soon started shooting music videos and independent films — her credits in the latter arena include Nancy, Catfight and The Afterlight — before landing her big break on the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale.
