Tiffen Advances Steadicam Volt 3
A pan function for Steadicam M2 and M1 sleds is now available.
The Tiffen Co. is advancing Steadicam Volt technology with the addition of a Volt 3 pan function for Steadicam M2 and M1 sleds.
Weighing 6 pounds, the Volt 3 integrates into the normal gimbal position on M2 and M1 sleds and is compatible with 1.58" and 1.75" Posts. A new control center, or “Pot Box,” in the stage offers four user-selectable dials controlling pan, tilt, roll and damping strength. Additionally, there is a button for pausing the Volt and another that activates a submenu for customized settings. Three LED indicators and a digital readout supply menu and system feedback. By using the submenu, operators gain new control of pan inertia and pan drag. Additional control is close at hand via two gimbal-mounted, switchable buttons that access Sticky/Normal and presets.
Volt 3 packages are currently available for new Steadicam M2 systems, and upgrades are available for current M2 and M1 owners.
