Tiffen Announces Magnetic Control System

The solution is designed to eliminate the hassle of threading lens filters on and off while maintaining a safe and positive lock.

The Tiffen Co. has announced the Magnetic Control System, a new way to securely attach genuine Tiffen filters to lens fronts.

Tiffen’s MCS was developed to eliminate the hassle of threading filters on and off while maintaining a safe and positive lock. With MCS, filters stay locked in position even during demanding shooting situations, and then can be removed from the optic as needed without modification to the native lens. The MCS Adapter can stay on indefinitely or be detached.

Once the adapter is in place, the lens instantly receives any Tiffen MCS precision glass filter, including NDs, Polas, Color, Effects and the array of diffusion options. Each filter comes with front and rear magnetic protector caps and a magnetic adapter of the filter size.

All MCS filters are easily identified by their matte-black finish, blue ring and raised edge. Each filter includes a matching lens cap that instantly attaches to the filter front or directly fits to the lens via the MCS magnetic lock.

MCS Filters come in 58mm, 77mm and 82mm. Step-up MCS Magnetic Adapters are available to accommodate other sizes.

Tiffen MCS Filters list for $99.99. MCS Adapters list for $19.99.
