Hall Tribute Nov. 20 at Camerimage
Moderated by AC editor Stephen Pizzello and AC European correspondent Benjamin B, the event will feature clips from Hall's work and in-person and videotaped tributes from the cinematographer's colleagues.
American Cinematographer and the ASC will present a tribute to the late Conrad L. Hall, ASC, at the Camerimage International Film Festival in Poland on Nov. 20 at the Multikino, Room 7, at 6:15 p.m.
Moderated by AC editor Stephen Pizzello and AC European correspondent Benjamin B, the event will feature clips from Hall's work and in-person and videotaped tributes from the cinematographer's colleagues, collaborators and friends, including ASC members John Toll, Ellen Kuras, Ed Lachman, Richard Crudo and Haskell Wexler.
Hall's many honors included three Academy Awards, for Road to Perdition, American Beauty and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and seven additional Oscar nominations. He won ASC Awards for Tequila Sunrise, Searching for Bobby Fischer, American Beauty and Road to Perdition, and was honored with the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994. He received the Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.
Hall died in 2003.
