This is Deakins’ 16th Academy Award nomination. He now has the second most nominations in cinematography and previously won for Blade Runner 2049 and 1917. He only behind the 18 nominations each for ASC members Leon Shamroy and Charles B. Lang Jr.
This is the second nomination for Khondji, who earned a previous nod for Evita.
This is the first Oscar nomination for Friend, Hoffmeister and Walker.

Deakins, Khondji, and Walker also earned ASC Award nominations for their work, along with Greig Fraser, ASC, ACS for The Batman and Claudio Miranda, ASC for Top Gun: Maverick. The 37th annual ASC Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography ceremony takes place on March 5, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. which will be live streamed worldwide.
